157 Mr. Lowry asked the Minister for Justice the extent of consultations between his Department, the Garda authorities and the Law Society regarding the alteration of the District Court area order; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The Law Society were consulted in regard to the proposed order and made their views known to me. The effect so far as Garda operations are concerned is also being taken into account and further consultations with the Garda authorities are envisaged.
I hope to be in a position to announce the changes involved in the relatively near future.
