Vol. 6 No. 14

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - WESTMEATH AGRARIAN DISPUTE.

SEAN O LAIDHIN

asked the Minister for Defence if he will now release James Costelloe, Pat, John and Wm. Daly (brothers), and Richard Dalton, who were arrested at Ballinahown, Westmeath, on July 20th, 1923, in connection with the Bloomhill land dispute, and at present interned in Dundalk Prison without trial.

These particular prisoners will be released on their entering into recognizances with two solvent securities as provided by Section 6 of the Public Safety (Powers of Arrest and Detention) Temporary Act, 1924.

Will that mean that these prisoners will have to give up all right and title to these lands?

That is a hard question for the Minister for Defence.

By getting these two solvent securities will they forfeit their title to these lands at Bloomhill?

Any matter of detail connected with the recognisance in question and any application in connection with the matter should be addressed to the Minister for Home Affairs.
