Vol. 20 No. 3

PROPOSED APPOINTMENT OF LEAS-CHEANN COMHAIRLE.

There is a motion on the Order Paper for to-morrow which reads: "That Deputy Séamus O Dóláin be elected Leas-Cheann Comhairle." If it is intended to deal with that motion to-morrow, I want now to give notice of an amendment. If it is not intended to deal with that motion to-morrow, I will postpone notice of my amendment and put it on the Order Paper in the ordinary way. It may facilitate business if I give notice now of the amendment. It will be on the following lines: "That so much of the report of the Committee on Salaries and Allowances, dated January 15th, 1923, and adopted on January 24th, 1923, as refers to the salary of the Leas-Cheann Comhairle be hereby rescinded." The purpose is to move for alteration by way of reduction in that salary.

Is it intended to take the motion for the appointment of Leas-Cheann Comhairle to-morrow?

Is there any objection to the motion being taken to-morrow?

No objection was taken, audit was ordered that the motion be taken to-morrow.
