Vol. 21 No. 8

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - ACQUISITION OF ROSCOMMON FARM.

asked the Minister for Fisheries whether steps will be taken to acquire and distribute the grazing farm known at Ballyfinigen, Ballintubber, Co. Roscommon, the property of James Hanley, Creggs, Co. Galway, and consisting of about 120 acres, which farm was purchased some years ago, though representations were made at the time to the Land Commission to acquire the said farm, with a view to division amongst the people of Ballintubber adjoining the farm, who have only small holdings of from 7 to 10 acres, and which are for the greater part of the year covered with water and unfit for tillage.

The Land Commission have under consideration the acquisition of an area of 185a. 2r. 12p. of the lands of Ballyfinnegan, the property of James Hanly, Creggs, Co. Galway.
