Vol. 37 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Export of Worn-out Horses.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the number of worn-out horses exported in each of the last five years from the Saorstát.

Exporters of horses are not required to give information about their condition such as would indicate whether they are worn-out. Accordingly, the desired particulars are not available.

I should like to ask the Minister if any of these worn-out horses which have been exported from this country have been sold in shops in Dublin as tinned beef.

I cannot distinguish worn-out horses.

How many of these exported horses are in use in foreign cavalry regiments?

I do not know what a worn-out horse is.
