Vol. 37 No. 7

Public Health (Special Expenses) Bill, 1931—Report Stage.

I move amendment:—

In page 3, section 2 (4) (b), line 1, to delete the words "the capital cost of the work" and substitute the words "so much of the capital cost of the work as is defrayed by a board of health is so."

Amendment put and agreed to.
Amendment 2 not moved.
Question proposed—"That the Bill, as amended, be received for final consideration."

The only question is what form the amendment agreed in Committee Stage goes in. The Minister had better look at it before the Bill is reprinted.

I am taking the Deputy's amendment.

"The provision or improvement of sewers or of." The second "of" would have to come in.

That will be done.

Question put and agreed to.

I ask leave to take the Fifth Stage now, in order that the Bill may go to the Seanad.

The only anxiety in my mind is that the drafting would be right. The preposition "of" seems to be necessary in that case, "the provision of sewers or of," so that the word "improvement" would apply to both.

"The provision or improvement of sewers or the provision or improvement of"—it will be in that form.

Question—"That the Bill do now pass"—put, and agreed to.
