Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rates and Land Annuities.
asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the total amount withheld from each county council on the 1st April, 1936, in respect of deficiencies in the Land Purchase Fund and the Land Bond Fund, arising out of the arrears in land purchase annuities, and the gross total of the amount so withheld from county councils.
asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the total amount of (1) the sums paid from the Local Taxation Account, and (2) other Exchequer payments to each county council during the year ended 31st March, 1936.
asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state in respect of each county the total amount included in the warrant for the year ending 31st March, 1937, in respect of Credit Notes (Agricultural Grant), and the total of such amounts included in the total warrant for the year.

Sums amounting to £550,000 were advanced by the Exchequer in respect of arrears of annuities that were funded under the Land Act, 1933, and the payment of this amount to local bodies off-set to a large extent the draws upon the Guarantee Fund at February, 1934, and February, 1935.
The following table shows in column 2 the amounts paid from the Local Taxation Account and in column 3 other Exchequer payments to county councils in the year ended 31st March, 1936. The figures given in column 3 are based on such official information as is available in the Department of Local Government and Public Health. |
