asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state the number of warble fly inspectors appointed by each of the county councils in Ireland, and if he will state the yearly amount of (a) salaries and (b) other remuneration paid to warble fly inspectors, in each county, and the extent to which these payments are borne (a) by the rates, and (b) by the Exchequer.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Warble Fly Inspectors.
The answer is in the form of a table which will appear in the Official Report. One half of the expenditure is borne from rates and the other half from the General Cattle Diseases Fund.
Following is the table:—

Does the Minister realise that the warble fly scheme virtually broke down last year and that, as a matter of fact, the scheme was not carried out?
I do not think so.
Ask the suppliers of the preparation which was used in the dressing as a preventive against the warble fly.
I do not believe it was a failure.
But the scheme was not carried out last year.
Has the Minister any good reports as to the operation of this scheme since it started?
We had reports; it is hard to say whether they were good or bad.
Does not the Minister know it is hardly worth the money?
