Vol. 75 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - River Robe Passageway.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that the residents of the townlands of Cruinlin, Tootagh, Cuillane and Ballykinave used a passage across the River Robe between the Kilnock and Tootagh bridges for the past 50 years; that the stepping stones of said passage were recently removed during drainage operations; that the people of those townlands are suffering great hardships by having to travel over three miles to cross over the nearest available bridge; and, if he will state if the Commissioners of Public Works will have a footbridge constructed across the river where the old passageway existed.

The Commissioners of Public Works have under consideration the application made for an accommodation bridge at the point referred to, but before they can arrive at a decision in the matter, evidence must be forthcoming from the persons affected as to the existence of a public right of way at the place in question. The interested persons are being asked to supply this necessary evidence.
