asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the number of minor relief schemes sanctioned for 1940-41 in each of the following rural districts: Bantry, Castletownbere, Schull, Skibbereen; and the total amount of money allotted by way of grant in each of the districts named.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Minor Relief Schemes in County Cork.
The number of minor relief schemes and the amounts of the allocations approved to date for the rural districts referred to are as follows:—
Rural District |
No. of Schemes |
Amount of Allocation |
£ |
||
Bantry |
12 |
1,255 |
Castletownbere |
55 |
5,175 |
Schull |
1 |
100 |
Skibbereen |
11 |
855 |
There are also in these districts "Roads Rural Schemes" which would bring the totals up to: Bantry, £5,209; Castletownbere, £11,112; Schull, £1,511; and Skibbereen, £4.649.
Might I ask the Parliamentary Secretary if that list is final, so far as minor relief schemes are concerned, or may any others be added to it during the present financial year?
Broadly speaking, the list is closed except for really exceptional cases.
