Vol. 82 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Division of Roscommon Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware of the discontent existing in Kilteevan, Roscommon, as a result of the failure of the Land Commission to put into operation a sub-division scheme for the Mapother lands at Kilteevan; if he is aware of the serious inconvenience being caused in the matter of tillage, and if he can state the earliest date on which the operation of the sub-division scheme may be expected.

The scheme for the division of the lands of Kilteevan on the Mapother estate has now been approved and it is expected that the lands will be divided at an early date.

Mr. Brennan

Is the Minister aware that there is a lot of tillage land on the estate which will go uncropped unless he takes steps to have it divided at once?

It will be divided very shortly.

Mr. Brennan

"Very shortly" is not much good to the people who want to till it.
