Vol. 88 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerosene for Creameries.

asked the Minister for Supplies if he will say whether supplies of kerosene will be made available for creameries in the coming season as they were last season; and whether Swanlinbar Creamery will be put on a similar footing with other creameries.

Allowances of kerosene for use in creameries registered with my Department as industrial users of kerosene will be granted in relation to the supplies available for issue. Swanlinbar creamery is not so registered, but, if supplies are required by that creamery for industrial use, any application for registration will receive consideration on a similar footing to other creameries.

Has not the Swanlinbar Committee made application in the ordinary way this year for registration?

No, the creamery is not registered.

I was told by the manager that he applied two or three months ago.

I am telling the Deputy now that the creamery is not registered as an industrial user of kerosene. The only application I received from the creamery last winter was for kerosene for lighting purposes which could not be given.
