asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state the quantity of fish landed from Irish fishing vessels in each of the last three years for which the information is available, and the quantity of fish imported during the same period; and whether he will further state the quantity of tinned fish imported during each of the last three years for which the information is available.

The quantities of fish (other than shellfish) landed from Irish fishing vessels in each of the three years 1940, 1941 and 1942 were:—

Full particulars of the quantities landed in 1943 are not yet available.

It is not in accordance with public policy to publish detailed statistics of trade subsequent to August, 1939, and consequently particulars of fish imports cannot be supplied.
