The Government has no knowledge of the date upon which the emergency will end or upon which the Oireachtas will relieve it of the responsibilities placed upon it by the Emergency Powers Act, 1939. The Government will, however, request the Oireachtas to relieve it of these responsibilities at the earliest possible moment consistent with national safety.
