Vol. 103 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fermoy Building Sites.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state whether a proposal by the Fermoy Urban District Council to acquire the sites of the old military barracks and hospital, for building purposes, was not accepted by him; if so, why, in view of the derelict condition of the buildings, such proposal was rejected; and whether he has an alternative use in view for this particular piece of State property.

Proposals for leasing the properties in question had to be deferred pending consideration of military requirements. Neither property is available for disposal at present.

Would the Parliamentary Secretary inform the House when a decision is likely to be taken in this matter?

The Parliamentary Secretary has no responsibility in regard to making a decision in this matter.

But when will a decision be made?

If I have no responsibility for making a decision I could not be expected to say.
