Vol. 103 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Supplies of Tractor Vaporising Oil.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware that there is no T.V.O. oil available in County Tipperary, as a result of which most of the tractors in the county are immobilised, thereby impeding threshing and ploughing operations; and if he will state what steps he intends to take to ensure that supplies of this commodity are made available immediately.

I have received no recent complaint of shortage of tractor vaporising oil in County Tipperary and inquiries I have made do not bear out the Deputy's allegation. Whilst stocks at the local depot of the oil distributing companies serving the county vary from time to time they are speedily replenished as required and I do not consider that the present position calls for any action on the part of my Department.
