Vol. 104 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Salaries of Dispensary Doctors.

asked the Minister for Health if he has received representations from local authorities, the Irish Medical Council and other medical organisations, concerning the increase of the salaries of dispensary doctors, hospital doctors and county and assistant county medical officers of health; and if he will make a statement on this matter.

Representations have been received from the Medical Association of Ireland and from the Society of Medical Officers of Health. A few local authorities have recently submitted proposals for increases in the salaries of various categories of medical officers. These are being examined and it is expected that a decision will issue at an early date.
