The Galway County Council propose to acquire the following sites under a compulsory purchase order made in 1947: (a) sites for two cottages in Clifden District Electoral Division, Clifden Rural District; (b) sites for six cottages in Oughterard District Electoral Division and a site for one cottage in Wormhole District Electoral Division, Oughterard Rural District; (c) a site for a single cottage in each of Galway Rural, Barna, Ballynacourty and Lisheenavalla District Electoral Divisions, six sites in Spiddal, two in Deer-park and two in Liscannanan, Galway Rural District. It is not possible to say when erection of these cottages will commence, but the scheme should be well forward before the end of the year.
I understand that the county council are also in process of acquiring, by agreement, a number of additional sites in the rural districts mentioned, but I have no particulars of the precise areas in which these sites will be located.
