The latest date in respect of which figures in regard to the efficiency of national teachers are available is 30th June, 1947. On that date 10,622 teachers were paid personal salaries out of the Primary Education Vote, and of the teachers in respect of whom a rating had been awarded 3,258 were rated highly efficient and 7,112 as efficient.
