asked the Minister for Health if he will state what effect pasteurisation has on the food value of milk.

I am not aware of any evidence that pasteurisation appreciably affects the nutritive quality of milk.

Is the Minister aware that there is a calcium deficiency when milk is pasteurised and also a deficiency in vitamins D and E?

Is the Minister not aware that pasteurisation has the effect of solidifying albumen in the milk and making it more indigestible for children?

I have told Deputies that I am not aware that pasteurisation appreciably affects the nutritive quality of milk.
