Vol. 122 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Wicklow Telephone Facilities.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is prepared to have a telephone kiosk erected in the village of Askamore, County Wicklow, since it would be of great service to the people in that area.

A public telephone call office will be installed at Askamore Post Office as part of the scheme to provide public telephones in all post offices. In this connection, I would refer the Deputy to the general statement on the call office scheme made by me on 18th April, 1950, in reply to a question by Deputy Madden on the subject of a call office at Carrigkerry, County Limerick.

Askamore is not included in the call office programme for the year ending 31st March, 1951.

The erection of a telephone kiosk at Askamore would not be warranted.
