Vol. 124 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Appeals from Cork Letting Grants.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state whether he has received any appeals from letting grants, given by the Cork County Council, the dates on which the longest outstanding appeals were received and when he will give a decision on them.

With one exception all appeals made to me against decisions of the Cork County Council in regard to the making of letting grants have been determined by me. The outstanding appeal was received in the Department on the 18th March, 1950. A decision on this case has been deferred pending the submission by the applicant of evidence of compliance with the regulations governing the satisfactory completion of the houses in respect of which the appeal was made.

Does the Minister know that he has no authority in this particular matter, and will he kindly read the Act?
