Vol. 126 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Electricity Supply Board Pensions.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state when the increases in pensions granted by the Electricity Supply Board to transferred pensioners from the Dublin Corporation will be paid, and if he is aware that an undertaking given by the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Industry and Commerce on the 27th June, 1950, has not been implemented.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the reason why transferred corporation employees, pensioned by the Electricity Supply Board, have not had their pensions increased to date, also the cause of the delay in paying them the increase in the light of the many promises given in the past that the matter was receiving attention.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 10 and 11 together.

I am informed by the Electricity Supply Board that the increases in pensions authorised by Section 16 of the Pensions (Increase) Act, 1950, have been paid by the board. Legislation to deal with the case of other pensioners of the board, including some transferred to the service of the board from that of the Dublin Corporation, who are not covered by the Pensions (Increase) Act, 1950, is in course of preparation.
