Vol. 129 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Carrigtwohill Primary School.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state the reasons for the delay in building a new school at Carrigtwohill, County Cork.

A suitable site has been offered by the reverend manager for a new school to replace the present St. Mary's Boys' National School, Carrigtwohill, County Cork, but protracted negotiations were necessary before the reverend manager's solicitors were in a position to indicate that satisfactory evidence of title to the site could be produced. It is expected that the required proof of title will be forthcoming in the near future.

Certain other preliminary arrangements which have to be made before a grant can be sanctioned by the Department towards the cost of the new school are in hands. Every effort will be made to have these arrangements completed as expeditiously as possible.
