Vol. 131 No. 2

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take No. 7. It is proposed that the consideration of Government business be not interrupted at the time fixed for Private Deputies' Business.

Would the Minister for Justice state when he intends to introduce the Legal Adoption Bill?

I hope to be able to introduce it about next Tuesday or Wednesday.

I take it that the Bill in the name of Deputy Dockrell and myself on the Order Paper will be withdrawn.

I am agreeable to that.

May we have an indication of what the Government proposals are for the rest of the week? Is it intended to sit on Friday or is it not?

I think that I indicated yesterday that we hoped to finish the debate on the Financial Resolutions to-morrow evening so as to take the Finance Bill next week. However, the House is its own master in matters of this kind and it may be necessary to meet on Friday.

When may we have an indication? Have the Whips met?

The Whip is attempting to inform the Minister.

I understand that the position is that it is hoped not to have to meet on Friday.
