asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will consider discontinuing the practice whereby a financial guarantee is insisted upon before the Radio Éireann Symphony Orchestra is permitted to visit provincial centres.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Radio Éireann Symphony Orchestra.
The present arrangements under which concerts are performed by the Radio Éireann Symphony Orchestra in the provinces are working reasonably well and at present I do not see any reason for changing them.
I understand that the financial guarantee which the Radio Eireann Orchestra insists upon is somewhat substantial. It can in cases be as high as £100.
Mr. Boland
So far the Minister is satisfied that the arrangements are working reasonably well. That is all I can say at the moment.
