The total number of houses completed by local authorities in the year ended 31st March, 1951, by direct labour, was 1,555. An inquiry as to the number of houses built by local authorities using this method in the year ended 31st March, 1952, has been addressed recently to all local authorities, and when replies have been received I will forward the information to the Deputy.
