asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state (a) the total local works drainage grants made available to County Mayo for the years 1948-49 to 1952-53, inclusive, and (b) the total amount spent on drainage work at the end of each financial year in question.

2. The grant for 1952/53 is an interim amount pending determination of the final figure and particulars of expenditure chargeable thereto are not yet available.

In addition to the grants shown above for the years 1950/51 to 1952/53 inclusive a special allocation was made available for the execution of works ancillary to operations under the Land Rehabilitation Project. The amount of this special allocation was £1,000 in 1950/51 and 1951/52 and £500 in 1952/53 but no expenditure under this head has been incurred.
