Vol. 133 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - New Cork Schools.

asked the Minister for Education whether he will indicate when it is hoped to commence work on the proposed new school buildings at (a) Ballincollig, and (b) Kilmurry, Lissarda, County Cork.

Tenders for the erection of the proposed new Ballincollig National Schools have been received and are at present being considered by the Commissioners of Public Works. I understand from the commissioners that they hope to be in a position to place a contract at an early date.

The Department will not be in a position to sanction a grant towards the cost of the proposed new Kilmurry National School until certain arrangements at present in hands as regards the production of evidence of title to the site have been completed.

In the circumstances, I am at present unable to say when it is likely that work on the erection of the new school will be commenced.
