Vol. 133 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - River Suir Flooding.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will have a survey carried out in the near future of the River Suir, County Tipperary, in view of the serious flooding that is caused to areas of the best land in both North and South Tipperary, obliging people to vacate their homesteads in many areas, during flooding.

Having regard to the present commitments of the Commissioners of Public Works for the purposes of the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945, it is not possible to have a survey of the River Suir carried out in the near future. I am not in a position to say when such a survey can be undertaken.
