asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware of the urgent need for the extension of Electricity Supply Board electric current to the Callow and Killasser areas of North Mayo; and, if so, if he will state when this work will be undertaken.

I am informed by the Electricity Supply Board that the Killasser area, County Mayo, which includes Callow, has been considered on a number of occasions for development under the rural electrification scheme. The area has not, so far, been selected and it is not possible at this stage to say when development of the area is likely to take place.
