asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state in respect of the years 1938-39, 1950-51, 1951-52 and 1952-53 (a) the total amount spent on the upkeep, repair and maintenance of roads in the State, and (b) the total amount spent on road improvements and on the building of new roads, distinguishing in each case the source of the funds so spent, e.g. local rates, Road Fund, and State grants.
