The amount of supplementary benefit paid under the Insurance (Intermittent Unemployment) Act, 1942, in any year depends upon the weather and the volume of employment in the building trade. If supplementary benefit at the hourly rates ?, ? and 8d. had been payable throughout the calendar years ended 31st December, 1951, and 1952, it is estimated that the following amounts would have been payable out of the Supplementary Unemployment Fund:
