Innisboffin, County Galway, already has a limited telegraph service by means of a radio telegraph link with Clifden.
Arrangements have been made to replace this system by modern radio telephone equipment which will enable telephone calls to be made at all times between the island and the mainland. Weather permitting it is hoped to carry out the installation work before April next.
