Vol. 145 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fermoy National School.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state when it is intended to start work on the building of the proposed new national school at Clondulane, Fermoy.

I am advised that a tender for the erection of the proposed new national school at Clondulane, County Cork, has been accepted by the Commissioners of Public Works and that it is expected that the work will commence very soon.

Would the Minister make sure this work will be started? I understand the tenders have been in for six or seven months. As there is grave need for the work, on account of the unemployment in Clondulane as the result of the closing of the mill, I am asking the Minister to make sure the work will be put in hands straight away.

I will let the Deputy know.
