Vol. 148 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Traffic Lights.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he has received an application from the Cork Corporation for permission to install traffic lights at the Southern Road-Langford Row junction, Cork City, and, if so, whether he proposes to accede to the request.

There has been correspondence between my Department and the Cork Corporation on the subject of a grant for the provision of traffic lights at this junction. The matter will be decided when the Commissioner of the Garda Síochána has indicated whether the proposed location of these lights has his consent.

Is the Minister not aware that the Cork Corporation has received permission from the Commissioner of the Garda Síochána?

That may be, but that has not been communicated to me so far.
