Ceisteanna-Questions. Oral Answers. - Galway Water and Sewerage Schemes.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he has received proposals from the Galway County Council in connection with (a) the Craughwell water supply scheme, (b) the Killimor water supply scheme, (c) the Clarinbridge water supply scheme, (d) the Athenry water supply (improvement) scheme, (e) the Woodford sewerage scheme, and (f) the Eyrecourt sewerage scheme, and what is the present position in regard to each scheme.

The information is as follows:—

(a) and (b) Craughwell and Killimor water supply schemes: Approval has recently been given to the acceptance by the Galway County Council of tenders for the execution of these schemes.

(c) Clarinbridge water supply scheme: The details of the scheme have been approved, but the county council has not yet indicated that the scheme is ready for the invitation of tenders.

(d) Athenry water supply (improvement) scheme: The final details of this scheme have not yet been settled. It is understood that certain aspects are engaging the attention of the consulting engineer.

(e) Woodford sewerage scheme: A consulting engineer has been appointed by the council to prepare a scheme. His preliminary report is awaited.

(f) Eyrecourt sewerage scheme: The details of this scheme have been approved, and it is now ready for the invitation of tenders.
