Vol. 163 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Crinkle (Birr) School.

asked the Minister for Education when it is proposed to erect a new national school at Crinkle, Birr, to replace the existing school which is in bad condition.

A grant has been sanctioned by my Department towards the cost of the erection of a new school to replace the existing national school at Crinkle, Birr.

I understand from the Commissioners of Public Works that working drawings for the new school have been prepared, but that certain other arrangements will have to be made before the commissioners will be in a position to invite tenders. These arrangements will be dealt with as expeditiously as possible but it will necessarily take some little time to complete them.

I regret that I am unable to say, at present, when work on the building of the new school will be commenced.
