Vol. 171 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Imports of Biscuits.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state the quantity and value of biscuits imported in the year ended 30th September, 1958, or the nearest available date.

The quantity of biscuits (not containing cocoa) imported in the year ended 30th September, 1958, was 9,474 cwt. and the value (c.i.f.) was £109,673.

Will the Taoiseach state whether biscuit manufacturers receive a subsidy of 20/- to 30/- a sack on every sack of flour they use?

I asked the Taoiseach.

He will not answer.

It does not arise.

Can I have a reply to my supplementary question?

Put the question to the proper quarter and it will be answered.

You appear to be very peevish over there.

The demonstration over there is remarkable.

Am I entitled to get a reply?

The Chair has no power to force anybody to reply.

If the Deputy wants a reply to the question let him put it down on the Order Paper.

This is a natural supplementary question.

It has nothing to do with the question.

If the Deputy asks a specific question, he will get a specific answer.
