As was announced to the daily Press on 17th November, the Government have approved in principle of the establishment of conciliation and arbitration machinery for the Garda Síochána up to and including the rank of inspector. A draft scheme has been sent to the representative bodies concerned.
Would the Minister give any idea as to when the scheme is likely to be made operative?
The representative body itself will be involved in that and when they have submitted their report the Government will be able to deal with it.
