Vol. 175 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Division of Meath Land.

12.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state in respect of County Meath the total acreage of land acquired for division and not yet re-allotted.

Apart from turbary and small remnants of allotted estates, there is an aggregate of some 2,800 acres on hands in Co. Meath. Of this, an area of 580 acres is let for the current season to Department of Agriculture for the accommodation of re-actor cattle purchased under the T.B. eradication scheme. Every effort is being made by the Land Commission to dispose of lands on hands in Co. Meath, and elsewhere as speedily as possible. During the past three years, a total of 3,100 acres was distributed in the County and, already this year, a further 300 acres have been allotted.
