asked the Taoiseach the value and quantity for the years 1958 and 1959 of each of the main kinds of fruit which are listed (1) under the heading "fruit pulp and pastes" in the list of imports and (2) under the headings "fruit, fresh and nuts", "fruit, canned or bottled", "fruit pulps", and "fruit and fruit preparations, n.e.s." in the list of exports in Trade Statistics of Ireland.

I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report a statement giving the required information in so far as separate details are available.

Following is the statement:
