Vol. 184 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wearing of State Emblems and Decorations.

38.

asked the Minister for Defence if, in any circumstances, a restriction may be placed on employees of his Department with regard to the wearing, during the course of their duties, of any emblems or decorations given by the State for services rendered; and if he will give an assurance that proper respect will be shown for these emblems and decorations.

Emblems or decorations awarded to civilians for services rendered to the State may be worn at the pleasure of the persons concerned.

If any instance of alleged disrespect for such emblems or decorations on the part of employees of my Department is brought to my notice I will have the matter investigated.
