Vol. 185 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Meath Vocational Schools.

37.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware that the four vocational schools erected in County Meath in recent years are now too small for the increased number of pupils applying; and if in view of this position he will ensure that any future buildings will be made adequate in size and design to cater for an ever-increasing demand for this type of education.

I am aware that the position in the four recently built vocational schools in Co. Meath is as suggested by the Deputy. The reason is that development in the Demand for vocational education in Co. Meath, as in other areas in the country, is greater than could be foreseen when those schools were being planned.

The acceleration in the demand for vocational education will be borne in mind in relation to the accommodation to be provided in schools to be built for the future.
