Exports are brought to account according to the headings of the Official Export List which does not separately distinguish turf briquettes from other forms of turf and the descriptions given on the basic documents are not in all cases sufficiently full to ensure that the classification can be made exactly. However, on the basis of an examination of the documents in question, it is estimated that in the year 1960, 350 tons of turf briquettes were exported to Britain valued (f.o.b.) at £2,278, while exports to other areas amounted to 5,081 tons valued at £25,114.
