Electricity (Supply) (Amendment) Bill, 1959—From the Seanad.

The Dáil went into Committee to consider amendments from the Seanad.

Minister for Transport and Power (Mr. Childers)

I move that the Committee agree with the Seanad in amendment No. 1:

In page 7, line 49, "Act" deleted and "paragraph" substituted.

Perhaps we could discuss the three amendments together. They were adopted by the Seanad and are, in effect, one amendment, the purpose of which is merely to provide expressly that every amendment of a superannuation scheme as well as the scheme itself shall be laid before each House of the Oireachtas. The section as originally drafted did not make the matter clear and the three amendments are all inserted and recommended for adoption simply in order to provide for that.

In page 8, line 17, ", every amending scheme" inserted before "and".

In page 8, lines 21 and 22, "superannuation" deleted in both places where it occurs.
