Vol. 187 No. 7

Vote 35—Secondary Education.

Pádraig Ó hIrighile

Tairgim:

"Go ndeonófar suim fhorlíontach nach mó ná £86,000 chun íoctha an mhuirir a thiocfaidh chun bheith iníoctha i rith na bliana dar críoch an 31ú lá de Mhárta, 1961, le haghaidh Meánoideachais, lena n-áirítear Deontas Tuarastail na Múinteoirí, Deontas Ceannsraithe, Tuarastal Breisitheach do Mheánmhúinteoirí agus Deontas do Chiste Pinsin na Meánmhúinteoirí.

That a supplementary sum not exceeding £86,000 be granted to defray the charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1961, for Secondary Education, including the Teachers' Salaries Grant, Capitation Grant, Incremental Salary to Secondary Teachers and Grant to the Secondary Teachers' Pension Fund."

The need for the Supplementary Estimate for £86,000 arose from the introduction as from 1 February 1960 of improved scales of incremental salaries for secondary teachers which were agreed upon as a result of discussions at the Secondary Teachers' Conciliation Council. The extra cost of the new scales over that of the scales previously in operation is estimated at about £90,000 to 31 March 1961, of which sum £4,000 is being met through savings under other subheads of the Vote.

Agus tá mórchuid de íoctha cheann féin? Níl na múinteoirí ag feithimh ar an airgead?

Pádraig Ó hIrighile
