Vol. 189 No. 9

Business of Dáil.

I understood it was agreed to take two resolutions, a Financial Resolution and a Money Resolution, in connection with the Eggs Bill which was discussed here earlier.

Surely the Standing Order does not permit us to do it. The Standing Order says it may be moved at any time before the Committee Stage. I do not think the Standing Order permits us to do what is suggested.

If that dilemma arises, I suggest the House would, by leave, discharge the Bill and that we should formally drone through the various Stages to conform with the Standing Order. If that is necessary, we are prepared to agree to that course.

Is it proposed that the Committee, Report and Fifth Stages be annulled?

We can then take the Money Resolution and Financial Resolution.

The Financial Resolution first.

Do we not have to pass a further resolution that they be taken notwithstanding the fact that they were not proper to be taken? I am quite agreeable to such a resolution being passed?

What happened was that the Second Stage was ordered for today and it was agreed to give all Stages.

That is all right. Then we can take it. I only wanted to do it the right way.
