A letting grant at the rate mentioned applies only where the erection of a house was completed on or before the 1st April, 1957. In effect, therefore, these grants have lapsed. The normal new house lump-sum grant is payable in respect of any dwelling erected for letting that conforms to the requirements of the Housing Acts.
