Vol. 196 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mayo Old IRA Service Medals.

93.

asked the Minister for Defence the total number of Old IRA service medals issued to date in County Mayo; and the number of applications for such medals which were rejected.

The information requested by the Deputy will take some time to compile and I regret, therefore, that I am unable to supply it today. If it will suit the Deputy, however, I will send him the information as soon as it is ready.

Would the Minister not consider putting the reply in the official records?

No. I think we have already made a decision on that.

The Deputy will put down his question again next week or in two weeks' time. Which would the Minister prefer?

I am having the information compiled.

The Deputy wants to repeat his question and, if the Minister wishes, he will put it down again in one week's time or in two weeks' time.

He can repeat his question.

Which would the Minister prefer?

The Deputy can do so any week he likes.

The Deputy will repeat it next week and if he does not get the information he can put it down again the following week, and so on.

Does Deputy Sweetman want to suggest that I will not have this published in the Official Report?

We are not taking that.

Deputy Kenny does not want the information that way.

Perhaps he does not hear.
